HONG KONG TRAMWAYS
The Hong Kong Tram is a road-based tram system in Hong Kong, which commenced service on 30 July 1904, mainly between Shau Kei Wan on the eastern side of Hong Kong Island and Kennedy Town in the Central and Western District, with a circular branch to Happy Valley. Since its opening, the tram has been used to alert pedestrians and vehicles to avoid the tram by ringing a bell at the head and tail of the lower compartment (as the tram is equipped with driving equipment at the head and tail), and the driver will ring the bell when he steps on the bell and make a "ding ding" sound. Despite the low fares, slow speed and lack of air-conditioning, the tram is a popular tourist attraction for the general public and foreign visitors, and has become one of Hong Kong's landmarks and an important cultural asset.
