HONG KONG ICE CREAM TRICYCLER

The introduction of itinerant hawker licences in Hong Kong in 1960 led to the emergence of ice-cream motorcycles selling ice-cream cups, cones, etc. at the entrances to schools and parks. In the 1970s and 1980s, the heyday of the ice-cream vendor was when more than 300 traders joined the trade. Although 61 itinerant hawker licences for frozen confections were reintroduced in 2009, convenience stores have become a few steps away in the last decade or so, so the old days of riding a three-wheeled motorcycle to the delight of children are no more.
