APLIU STREET(RT50)
Apliu Street, located in Sham Shui Po, is a famous "flea market" in Hong Kong. In the 19th century, the area around Apliu Street was farmland and fish ponds, and was covered with duck squatters, hence the name Apliu Street. In the 1950s and 1960s, Apliu Street began to change. At that time, the economic environment was relatively poor, so the residents set up stalls in Apliu Street, selling their old and unwanted goods at low prices, mostly fireplaces and footwear, as well as hardware and antique shops, and many of them set up their stalls in the form of enterprise stalls. Apliu Street became a place specialising in the sale of groceries and second-hand materials, and was known as the "miscellaneous racks". Starting from the 1980s, the types of goods increased, from electrical appliances, hardware, audio-visuals, mobile phones, car parts, computers, clocks and watches, goldsmiths, and even pets and fishing rods are also available for sale, among which there are a number of stalls specialising in the sale of second-hand electronic products, the price of which is cheap, and the availability of a wide range of goods, is the gathering place of the "audiophiles". There are also stalls selling cheap watches, old clocks, old coins and nostalgia, providing an alternative shopping experience. With a wide range of products to satisfy the shopping desires of men of all ages, it is a man's paradise that attracts many men to come here for treasure hunting.
