HONG KONG FIRE ENGINE 55M TURNTABLE LADDER

The Hong Kong Fire Brigade was established on 9 May 1868. In the early days, fire engines were simple in construction, consisting of wooden fire engines with simple pumps that had to be pulled by horses or pushed by human power. After more than 200 years of development, Hong Kong's fire engine equipment has been continuously improved and there are 30 different types of fire engines, among which the 55-metre rotating steel ladder truck is now the largest ladder fire engine. At present, there are only six 55-metre TLs in Hong Kong, located at Lei Muk Shue, Chai Wan, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong Bay and Sha Tin Fire Stations. 55-metre TLs are equipped with lifting weights and light life-saving cages, and are fitted with sky eyes, which are mainly used for aerial rescue operations and as surveillance platforms. The Hong Kong Fire Services are tasked with the mission of "saving lives and helping people in distress" and have spared no effort in protecting the lives and property of the public, making Hong Kong a safe and happy place to live and work.
