PLAYGROUND SWING
Swinging was one of the most popular attractions for children, with so many children playing on the swings that there were often queues of children taking turns on the left and right sides of the swings. In the 1960s and 1970s, the swings were made of wooden boards and children could sit or stand on them, and some daring children could even swing them horizontally, almost at a 90-degree angle to the ground, which was very exciting. However, in the late 1980s, the wooden base of the swing was replaced with a soft plastic material and many playgrounds no longer have this facility.
